5/4/10 Topic: Decisions

This might be hard for you to remember but go with me for a minute.

Remember Pre-K? Who packed your lunch? Mom did. Who picked out your outfit for school? Mom did. (this was the 80's/90's--kids these days...well that's another blog). But every decision that needed to be made during your childhood was made for you.

As you get older, you learn to understand the difference between right and wrong. You now understand that every decision you make has a consequence. For every action there is a reaction (physics--who knew). So when you go to school in plaid coach shorts (80's) and a striped shirt....you now know you've made a fashion faux pas. Or sleeping with the entire varsity football and basketball team....well it has it's social consequences.

What about cheating on a spouse; stabbing someone in the back to get a promotion; lying about stupid things. The way I see it.....FOR EVERY ACTION, THERE IS A REACTION!

So please explain to me, how we've become a society that has put the blame on others for our decisions. Let's blame the democrats because there are people milking the welfare system. Or let's blame the worship leader for not singing my favorite songs so I can get saved. Let me blame my boss for my shortcomings at work. Whatever the case is, we've become so numb to owning our actions, our decisions, our failures!

It's time to be an adult! Quit playing house, quit playing dress up!! YOU ARE AN ADULT. Time to face the real world and face the hard decisions you will make every day. Most importantly, understanding the positive or negative reaction to every decision you make....jus sayin
